Which steam directory extactly (does it work with steam version)?Ģ. Will move on to something else or X4 if it's finished by then.ġ. I want the best complete expeirence since I will probably never return to it after a long playthrough. I'm familiar with x3 mechanics and I've played ap before so no need for recommendations to try vanilla first. And also some helps with installing in steam directory since that is not really explained on Litcube universe page. Would want as few other mods as possible so I can avoid incompatibility and was wondering if something else is really essential. After some reading Litcube seems intresting. So this time I wanna give AP a fair new try but experience tells me that mods are needed for that epic experience. Enjoyed x3 farm more then I do x4 in it's current state but seems promising for the future. Next hopes and hype was X4 but currently to broken, waiting for things to get patched up and first expansion. Thought I would wait for rebirth to get fixed and dlced and return but I never did since the "one ship" design was unbearable for me. I gave both x3tc and ap vanilla a try with all patches and official bonus packs but eventually got bored without mods. Got x3tc and ap on steam instead after the release of XR since I was so excited to go spacesim again. Then hyped over release of XR but stoped playing it after a couple of hours. Additionally you can decide if you want to spend more building resources and get lower maintenance in return, or spend less resources and pay more maintenance (quality of manufacture).Been away from the x-series a long long while, heavily modded x3tc was my last epic experience and some ap after it realeased but then I had a long break. If they come out of your sanctuary they have all equipment needed for DA and UT at no additional cost. I recommend only keeping 1 or 2 tradeships and then start building them yourself. If you collect ships left and right its easy to fall into a trap of having to do low pay missions nonstop to maintain a minimum of cashflow whereas your time would be best spent on scouting and looting the invasion zones where NPC's are frequently dropping high value weapons. But for example you should consider selling a high end freighter if you find a bailed one very early on, because it will cost you four times as much as a standart one which might also do the job alright. Maintenance generally isn't much of a problem. So you also don't need any 400XL Saturn Complex Hubs because ships are more affordable. You can't buy one, but the ship values determine the amount of resources you have to spend in ship construction. A standart destroyer just runs at about 15-20 million instead of hundreds of millions. Mayhem doesn't include Litcube's higher ship prices, though. They get damaged a bit if you are unable to pay. Your account drains 0,8% of every ship's value per ingame hour. Originally posted by Castania:I keep reading about this maintenance cost. Don't give in to this desire if you don't have the resources to build more stations or the military to defend this place. you will feel a desire to claim neutral sectors before the NPC's can take them. Don't keep them if they don't do something for you (mostly making money at this point) Because every ship costs maintenance and keeping a TS+ only drains money and slows your progress down in my opnion even if you find good ships early game. place satellites in NPC invasion zones first to get the best loot, only afterwards it is worth it to put them everywhere else looting is your best early game money maker (especially weapons) choose early sectors which are not in proximity to hostiles (pirates/Xenon) You can't build stations when hostiles are close in your sector. NPC shipyards have been refurbished to spawn battlegroups to invade and conquer more territory you can only put so much industrial power in any given sector (so you have to claim/conquer more) you generally can't buy ships and instead have to build most of them in one or multiple sector bases (sanctuaries) OCV waves are coming directly at you roughly every day and they are slowly getting stronger until you beat them in the storyline
